Mosaic has moved!
Our time "@ the Space" on Fourth Avenue has come to an end. We've had a blessed and storied decade in Southeast False Creek, but with shifting tides we've felt directed elsewhere. The reason for the move, in brief, is that the neighbourhood (now better known as Olympic Village) has changed significantly over the past ten years and current dynamics make it no longer feasible to stay.
Mosaic now meets in the basement of Strathcona Church, at the corner of Princess and East Pender Street in Vancouver — just the other side of the Downton Eastside radius where we've been based historically. Beginning October 5th 2014 Mosaic will be open Sundays at 2:00pm, with our service starting at 3:00pm. Our Wednesday Bible studies will begin again on October 15.
We will greatly miss our prior home as a place that marked, shaped and changed many of us into who we are today. Grappling with the sense of loss that change creates, we explored the need to express this and seek closure together. Last month we held a potluck and sharing circle, where many people had the opportunity to share what the old space meant to them over the years. It was an important and cherished time, like all our times there had been.
All the same, we at Mosaic feel excited by this change and look forward with great expectancy to what God will do through us in Strathcona. We are praying for reinvigorated meetings and an expanded vision for our community there. Please join us October 5 and onward, and please also pray for this critical transition for Mosaic.
